Jack Devine on Chile’s 9/11

On September 11th, 1973, Chile’s socialist president Salvador Allende was overthrown in a coup and allegedly committed suicide. Many have suspected that the CIA had a role in orchestrating the coup against Allende, who was openly critical of the United States. Jack Devine, who was a CIA agent in Chile at the time of his coup, gives Moisés Naím his perspective on US involvement in the coup.

The Spanish version of this interview aired on Efecto Naím, and this version was published by The Atlantic.
